The Sagas of Icelanders
The Íslendingasögur are a body of medieval Icelandic literature written in the 13th and 14th centuries, describing events from the Viking Age settlement of Iceland (9th–11th centuries). Unlike most medieval sagas, they are grounded in real geography — every farm, river, and mountain has a name and a location.
These are not myths. They are histories of real families, real feuds, and real places. The farms mentioned in Njáls saga, Egils saga, and Laxdæla saga can still be visited today — silent witnesses to events described over a thousand years ago.
