Meðfram grjótvarnargarði í fjörunni eru þrír heitir pottar (þ.m.t. eitt fiskikar) á trépalli. Vatnið kemur úr borholu og er um 40°C. Heitt vatn fannst á Drangsnesi 1997 og byrjuðu heimamenn að útbúa staðinn nokkrum dögum seinna (1). „Pottarnir eru á góðum stað í fjörunni í miðju þorpi, við hliðina á skemmtilegum klettadröngum. Pottarnir eru frábærir á öllum árstíðum og tímum dags. Frá þeim er gott útsýni út á fjörð og út í Grímsey og oft má sjá hvali þar og fjölskrúðugt fuglalíf. Það er búnings- og sturtuaðstaða“ (2).

Gunnuhver is one of Iceland's largest geothermal areas with boiling mud pools, aggressive steam vents and scalding hot springs near the town of Grindavík. The main feature is a powerful fumarole that blasts steam 20–30 metres into the air with a roaring sound. The area is named after a ghost (Gunna) who was lured into the hot spring and trapped there. Á Snæfellsnesi eru nokkrar kolsýrulaugar eða „ölkeldur“. Ölkelda er lind sem ólgar af kolsýru sem kemur upp með grunnvatninu (1). Þessi ölkelda er áhugaverð þar sem „hún er volg og miklar útfellingar eru í kringum hana. Auðvelt aðgengi og að sjá hvernig kolsýrt vatnið streymir upp úr jörð. Er langfræg úr margs konar ferðaritum“ (2).

Þeistareykir
„Jarðhitasvæðið á Þeistareykjum er í tengslum við virka megineldstöð. Um hana gengur sprungukerfi sem stefnir nánast N-S, um 4 - 5 km breitt og nær frá Mývatni í suðri og norður til sjávar vestast í Kelduhverfi. (...) Yfirborðsummerki jarðhita á Þeistareykjum eru dæmigerð fyrir háhitasvæði. Þar má finna bullandi leirhveri, gufuaugu, brennisteinsþúfur og ummyndun. Vatnshverir eru engir“ (1). Svæðið er á náttúruminjaskrá norðausturlands vegna fjölbreyttra jarðmyndana, gufu- og leirhvera, útfellinga í norðurhlíðum Bæjarfjalls og við Bóndhól. Einnig vegna jarðhitaplantna sem finnast á svæðinu (2).
Þeistareykjalaug
Laugin er „nokkurra ára gömul og mynduð með þeim hætti að stíflaður hefur verið um 150 metra heitur lækur með torfi og grjóti sem ber með sér affallsvatn frá heitavatnsborholu í rúmlega 100 metra fjarlægð. Vatnið í lauginni er passlega heitt til böðunar og um 1 metri að dýpt. Laugin rúmar stóran hóp baðgesta samtímis, leirbotn er í henni og hún gruggast við notkun.“ Engin búningsaðstaða er við laugina en hún er í umsjón Húsavíkurdeildar 4x4 og vélsleðamanna á Húsavík. Árið 2009 var laugin uppþornuð og óvíst hvort hún verður nothæf aftur. Nálægt lauginni eru skálar, sá nýrri frá 1958 sem stendur ferðalöngum opinn. Í 30 – 40 mínútna göngufjarlægð er Togarahellir.
