Gunnuhver地熱エリアは、Reykjanes半島の南西端に位置する非常に活発な地熱地帯です。大きな沸騰する泥池、噴気孔、硫黄を含む地熱活動で知られており、アイスランドで最もダイナミックな地熱景観のひとつです。 地熱入浴地として知られる多くの場所とは異なり、Gunnuhverは場所によっては沸点を超える温度に達するため、入浴には適していません。

Geothermal areas vs. baths & lagoons
🌋 Natural geothermal areas
Wild geological features — geysers, boiling mud pools, fumaroles and natural hot springs found in the open landscape.
Most are free to visit and accessible year-round. You cannot bathe in them — the water reaches 100°C and the ground is fragile and dangerous.
Stay on marked paths and never touch the water unless a sign explicitly allows bathing.
♨️ Lagoons & geothermal baths
Commercial facilities where geothermal water is piped into temperature-controlled pools — Blue Lagoon, Sky Lagoon, Forest Lagoon and more.
These require tickets, usually booked in advance. Water temperature is kept at a comfortable 38–42°C.
