Vesturbær — Reykjavík's West Side has been a significant site in Iceland's landscape. Throughout the years, this location has played an important role in Icelandic culture and natural history.
Vesturbær is a residential Reykjavík district west of downtown. Colourful houses, cafés and nearby outdoor spaces make it an appealing urban walking area. It is not a staffed tourist attraction, and private homes are not open to visitors. Look for public streets and individual points of interest on a neighbourhood walk.
