The reward for the demanding climb to Kristínartindar is one of Skaftafell's broadest panoramas: mountains of Öræfi, the southern edge of Vatnajökull and the vast sands of Skeiðarársandur. The route begins at Skaftafell Visitor Centre and shares lower sections with the trails toward Svartifoss and Sjónarsker before climbing higher.
