This attraction focuses on the ground deformation and damaged road landscape associated with the volcanic crisis that began at Grindavík in November 2023. A magma intrusion beneath the area caused extensive fissuring and the evacuation of the town. Later eruptions and continued deformation damaged buildings, roads and utilities and changed the landscape around Grindavík.
