露营是慢节奏探索冰岛的好方式，但最好提前根据实际营地规划行程，而不是每天傍晚随意找地方停车过夜。各营地的位置、避风条件、设施、营业季节和交通条件可能大不相同。好的路线既有可靠的过夜选择，也能应对天气和路况变化。
应使用指定营地及法律允许的过夜地点。景观路边停车带、景点停车场或私人土地不会因为驾驶房车就自动变成合法营地。在偏远地区，尤其是高地，出发前要同时确认道路通行情况和营地是否开放。

Highland Campsites for 4x4 Trips
Highland campsites are a different category of travel: access is seasonal, services are limited and road conditions matter as much as the campsite itself. These should only be used when the route and vehicle are appropriate.

帐篷简单省钱，但会暴露在风雨中。露营面包车提供遮蔽和灵活性，却仍容易受到强侧风影响，而且必须选择合法营地。大型房车需要更加谨慎地选择停车、转弯和行驶道路。车辆类型改变舒适度和路线选择，但不会改变允许过夜的地点。
天气是营地规划的首要限制
大风可能迅速使原本舒适的营地变得不合适。查看天气预报和警报，必要时选择更有遮蔽的营地，并准备应对夜间低温的睡眠装备。不要完全依赖一个暴露在风中的营地，始终准备替代过夜地点。
冰岛高地露营
高地露营比普通环岛公路旅行更偏远，也更依赖天气。F级高地道路有季节性开放限制，燃料和服务有限，而且可能要求使用适合的四驱车。营地开放并不意味着道路一定通畅，必须单独检查道路、通行条件和河流水位。

即使营地正在营业，前往的路线也可能不适合你的车辆或当前条件。进入高地或偏远地区之前，应查看官方道路和天气信息。
冰岛露营应该带什么？
优先准备防风防雨装备、保暖层、可靠的睡袋和睡垫、充电设备、离线导航，以及偏远地区的备用食物和水。夏季也可能有寒冷的夜晚和强风。帐篷露营必须按照空旷地带的条件固定装备，不要只考虑好天气。
围绕合适的过夜营地规划路线
好的露营旅行不需要每天更换营地。在一个营地住两晚可以减少不必要的驾驶，并在天气变化时增加灵活性。选择靠近多个景点的营地，以那里为基地安排一日游，而不是每天进行长时间转场。
