"Ljósvetninga saga (8) Eitt sumar kom skip af hafi norður við Tjörnes. (18) Er nú á hallæri en hvalreiðarár er mikið norður um Tjörnes. (21) Síðan reið Guðmundur á brott og norður í sveitir til þingmanna sinna og gisti á Tjörnesi og var honum skipað í öndvegi en innar frá honum var skipað Ófeigi Járngerðarsyni. (22) Maður hét Ísólfur og bjó norður á Tjörnesi.Reykdæla saga og Víga-Skútu (1) Eyvindur fór til Íslands og kom skipi sínu í Húsavík á Tjörnesi og nam Reykjadal upp frá Vestmannsvatni og bjó að Helgastöðum og þar var hann heygður."
