"Hann bjó í Rauðaskriðu við Fljótsheiði. (1) Hann fór til Hávarðs og lét bera varnað sinn til Eyjafjarðar og þótti ekki á verða nema starf eitt og seldi þar Eysteini úr Rauðaskriðu þrjú hundruð lérefta og klæði fyrir tíu hundruð og bauð Eysteini að flytja til skips í Húsavík verðið áður fjórar vikur eru af sumri. (2) Svo er sagt að Háls Fjörleifarson gerði bú að Tjörnum í Ljósavatnsskarði og þar gerðist vinátta mikil í millum og Eysteins í Rauðaskriðu."
