About Ólafsvík
Ólafsvík is a small fishing town on the north coast of Snæfellsnes with a distinctive modern church (Ólafsvíkurkirkja), and is often the starting point for whale watching tours in the surrounding waters. The town has been an important trading port since the 17th century and retains much of its traditional Icelandic character. Mount Enni towers above the town and offers hiking trails with views across the peninsula and out to Breiðafjörður.
