Hér er rúst hins gamla bæjar, Laugabrekku, og hinn gamli kirkjugarður. Friðlýsingu minjanna var þinglýst árið 1929 (1). Þetta er landnámsjörð sem tengist sögu Bárðar Snæfellsáss. Einnig er þar minnismerki um Guðríði Þorbjarnardóttur (2) eftir Ásmund Sveinsson. Guðrún var landkönnuður og víðförulasta kona sinnar tíðar (var uppi í kringum aldamótin 1000), en hún fæddist á Laugabrekku (3).
