"Fóstbræðra saga (8) Eftir skilnað þenna stígur Þorgeir á hest sinn og ríður eftir flokkinum og er hann kemur í Saurbæ þá var flokkurinn riðinn upp til Svínadals.Laxdæla saga (47) Kjartan svarar: „Eg mun ríða vestur Sælingsdal en vestan Svínadal.“ (48) Síðan reið hann suður Svínadal. (48) Þeir riðu til Svínadals og námu staðar hjá gili því er Hafragil heitir, bundu þar hestana og settust niður. (49) Þorkell hét maður er bjó að Hafratindum í Svínadal."
