"Svo er sagt að Háls Fjörleifarson gerði bú að Tjörnum í Ljósavatnsskarði og þar gerðist vinátta mikil í millum og Eysteins í Rauðaskriðu. (10) Sendir Áskell honum orð að hann komi til móts við hann að Tjörnum í Ljósavatnsskarði og vildi að þeir semdu þetta mál milli þeirra Steingríms og Vémundar og þótti sem minna mundi af verða ef þeir hittust eigi sjálfir er hvortveggja var kappsmaður mikill en miðlungi góðgjarn og sýndist það sáttvænlegra að þeir Eyjólfur semdu þeirra í milli. (11) Þeir koma nú til Tjarna og svo til Lauga og var nær sem þeim væri vísað til yxnanna, taka í brott og hafa heim með sér undir Fell um morguninn."
