"Fljótsdæla saga (2) Og er leið fram að vorþingi þá reið Ásbjörn ofan í Fljótsdalshérað og stefndi Ölviði til vorþings til Kiðjafells, þessi þingstöð er á hálsinum milli Skriðudals og Fljótsdals, og sótti þar hrossamálið.Hrafnkels saga Freysgoða (8) Með þenna flokk ríður hann austur yfir Fljótsdalsheiði og svo fyrir vatnsbotninn og um þveran háls til Skriðudals og upp eftir Skriðudal og suður á Öxarheiði til Berufjarðar og rétta þingmanna leið á Síðu. (16) Hún gekk upp um Skriðudal og upp allt með Lagarfljóti. (17) Þeir riðu um þveran Skriðudal og yfir háls yfir til Fljótsdals, þar sem heita Bulungarvellir, og ofan á Gilsáreyri."
