"Nú er frá því að segja að Kálfur illviti keypti sér land fyrir vestan Hítardalsheiði þar sem heitir Selárdalur. (19) Það var samtýnis við bæ Kálfs í Selárdal. (19) Og um haustið eftir er Kálfur hafði fært bú úr Hólmi vestur í Selárdal gerði Þorsteinn, son Kálfs, ferð sína suður yfir heiði og fór á Hítarnes til Þórðar og var þar vel við honum tekið og segir Þorsteinn erindi sitt að hann vill kaupa klyfjar sela. (34) Kálfur skal og hafa engar bætur sonar síns og vera héraðssekur vestan þaðan, láta jörð sína í Selárdal og fara suður um heiði í átthaga sinn."
