"Síðan lét Ögmundur gera hús þar á melnum og bjó þar síðan. (7) Narfi fer þegar þau eru í brottu og kom á Mel. (9) Kormákur reið í brott og líkaði illa, kemur heim á Mel og segir móður sinni að Skeggi vill eigi ljá sverðið. (11) Eftir þetta fer Kormákur heim á Mel og finnur móður sína. (11) Kormákur snýr í brott og kemur heim á Mel. (12) Fór Steinar heim en Kormákur fór á Mel. (19) Hann ríður heim á Mel og er þar um veturinn og vistar kaupmenn nær skipi. (21) Kormákur kvað sig ekki dvelja og fer heim á Mel. (23) Þá er hann þóttist afturbati ríður hann á Mel og býður Kormáki hólmgöngu."
