"Ljósvetninga saga (13) Þá bjó Þórir Helgason Valþjófssonar Helgasonar hins magra að Laugalandi í Hörgárdal. (13) Og er þau komu í skógana hjá Laugalandi þá veik Guðmundur hestinum aftur og mælti við þann mann er fylgdi hesti Þórlaugar: „Ríð þú nú fyrir en eg mun fylgja Þórlaugu.“ (18) Það sumar fór Þórir Helgason utan í Skagafirði en bú hans stóð eftir á Laugalandi. (18) En eftir um vorið kom hann út aftur til Íslands í Eyjafirði er þrjár vikur voru af sumri og reið þá heim til Laugalands og réð sér hjú. (18) Fór hann þá heim til bús síns á Laugaland og bjó þar til elli og þótti vera skörungur mikill.Reykdæla saga og Víga-Skútu (13) Og nú fara þeir Vémundur þrír saman og hitta Gnúp fyrir utan Laugaland á melunum og voru þeir þrír saman og höfðu farið með honum þrælar hans tveir."
