Ytri Tunga Seal Beach
About Ytri Tunga Seal Beach
Ytri Tunga is one of Iceland's best spots to see harbour seals in the wild. A large colony of seals regularly hauls out on the rocks at this small sandy beach on the south coast of Snæfellsnes, especially from June to August during pupping season. Dozens of seals can often be seen sunbathing or bobbing in the surf just metres from shore. The beach is free to visit and easily accessible from the Ring Road. Binoculars are recommended.
