Fimmvörðuháls is a demanding mountain route between Skógar and Þórsmörk, passing between Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull. The approximately 24 km trail climbs past the waterfalls above Skógafoss and crosses young volcanic terrain created during the 2010 eruption before descending into Þórsmörk.
