About Snapadalur
„Í [vesturfjöllum Vonarskarðs] eru litauðug háhitasvæði og ber einkum mikið á rauðum og brúnum tónum. Í miðju skarðinu rísa þrír brattir hnúkar upp af háhitasvæðinu, Eggja, Laugakúla og Rauðakúla, en vestan þeirra liggur annað háhitasvæði að austurhlíðum Tungnafellsjökuls. Þetta svæði sést hvergi úr Vonarskarði en háhitasvæðið þar er talsvert frábrugðið hinu, t.d. í litafari...Blettir með samfelldum gróðri eru við jarðhitann, en að auki er á sléttunni vestan Deilis nokkuð víðáttumikið svæði með samfelldum gróðri og kallast það Snapadalur.“
