The first groundbreaking ceremony for the pool took place in April 2008, marking the beginning of a significant project for the village. Designed by the acclaimed Basalt Arkitektar, the pool's construction was a meticulous process focused on integrating the structure seamlessly into the natural hillside. The vision was to create an "infinity" effect, giving the illusion that the pool's water extends directly into the vast Skagafjörður fjord. This architectural marvel officially opened its gates to the public around Easter 2010.
