Friðlýstar rústir sem þinglýst var 1931. „Rúst eyðibýlisins Faxabrandsstaða hún er upp með bæjarlæk Breiðabólsstaðar, gildum stekkjarvegi fyrir sunnan og vestan bæinn“ (1). Söguskilti hefur verið reist neðan við Breiðabólsstað en staðurinn kemur fram í Vatnsdælasögu (2).
