Um upplifunina

Journey deep into one of Iceland’s most legendary landscapes — the mighty Þórsmörk, known as The Valley of Thor. This private Superjeep adventure blends dramatic highland scenery with rich storytelling from Norse mythology, Viking history, and the sagas connected to this mystical region.

Your custom-built Superjeep, powered by a roaring 6.2L V8 engine and massive 44-inch tires, is purpose-made for the rugged route ahead. River crossings, gravel tracks, and volcanic terrain make Þórsmörk one of Iceland’s most exciting destinations — and one only accessible with vehicles like ours.

Through Glacial Rivers and Volcanic Landscapes

To reach Þórsmörk, we travel through a shifting landscape shaped by the Eyjafjallajökull volcano and the powerful glacial rivers flowing from its ice cap. Each crossing highlights the raw, untamed nature of Iceland’s highlands, with your guide explaining how eruptions, floods, and ancient geology carved the region.

Þórsmörk – Sanctuary of the Norse Thunder God

Hidden between three glaciers — Eyjafjallajökull, Mýrdalsjökull, and Tindfjallajökull — Þórsmörk is a lush oasis surrounded by jagged ridges and dramatic mountain peaks. Your guide will share stories of Thor, the protector of mankind and one of the most beloved Norse gods, and how this valley earned its mythical name.

Scenic Stops and Gentle Walks

In Þórsmörk, we explore its most beautiful viewpoints, canyons, and forested trails. Depending on conditions, you may take short walks to panoramic ridges or serene riverbanks — perfect for photography, storytelling, and taking in the atmosphere of one of Iceland’s most sacred natural spaces.

Eyjafjallajökull – A Volcano That Stopped the World

Along the route, we visit areas affected by the 2010 Eyjafjallajökull eruption, discovering how the landscape transformed and hearing stories from locals who witnessed the event unfold — a modern reminder of Iceland’s powerful natural forces.

Throughout the day, your guide weaves together mythology, geology, Viking history, and local folklore, giving the journey a deep sense of meaning and connection to Iceland’s past.

As a private tour, the experience moves entirely at your pace, with time for photos, walks, and the stories that interest you most.

For your comfort and safety, we reserve the right to adjust or cancel the tour due to weather, river levels, road conditions, or technical issues.

Join us in The Valley of Thor — an unforgettable journey into Iceland’s wild highlands, where sagas, mountains, and glacial rivers shape the land and its legends.
