Folk & Maritime Museum in Garður

The Folk and Maritime Museum in Garður opened in 1995 in former processing buildings at Garðskagi. Its collections document the fishing economy and everyday life of the local community, alongside an unusual engine collection assembled by Guðni Ingimundarson. Visit Reykjanes notes more than 60 engines on display, many of them operational. The museum sits close to the Garðskagi lighthouses and coast, making it easy to combine with birdwatching and lighthouse visits.
