„Út af staðarklöpp er lítill, sléttur klettur, smásker sem kemur upp um háfjöru. Það heitir Vatnstangi. Þar sjást enn síðustu leifar Grindavíkurhöndlunar, stærðar járnfleinn festur ofan í klöppina. Við hann lágu verzlunarskipin bundin á Arfadalsvíkinni.“ Festastólpi þessi var friðlýstur 1930 og þinglýstur 1938.
