Sunnan og suðaustan Garðaholts er land flatlendara og jarðvegsdýpt meiri en á holtinu sjálfu. Garðaholtið er talsvert grýtt með klöppum og klapparholtum, en austan þess liggur Búrfellshraunið“ (1). Hringsjá er á Garðaholti en frá henni er víðsýnt í allar áttir, út yfir voga og nes (2).
