Geirþjófsfjörður, a dramatic inlet in the Eastfjords, is forever linked to the notorious outlaw Geirþjóf.
Geirþjóf was a feared figure, known for his cruelty and his ability to evade capture for years. He eventually made his lair in this remote fjord, preying on unsuspecting travelers and local settlements. His reign of terror, however, was destined to end.
In a final, brutal confrontation, Geirþjóf was cornered and killed within the fjord that bears his name, his legend forever etched into the rugged landscape.
