About Vatnsdalsárgljúfur
Vatnsdalsá myndast úr kvíslum frá víðlendum heiðaflákum, Haukagilsheiði og Grímstunguheiði. „Vestan undir Bótarfelli dýpkar farvegur Vatnsdalsár og litlu norðar steypist hún í stórfenglegu gljúfri og mörgum fossum niður í Vatnsdal. (...) Efsti fossinn á fjallsbrún heitir Skínandi og ber nafn með réttu. Nokkru neðar eru Kerafoss og Rjúkandi. Neðarlega í gljúfrinu, hjá Glámsþúfu, er Skessufoss. Niðri undir bænum Forsæludal er Dalfoss, mikill foss, og Stekkjarfoss.“
