About Stokkseyri

A historic fishing village on the South Coast, known for its wave-battered shore, birdlife, old houses and strong arts and cultural scene.

A small South Coast village combining fishing heritage, coastal scenery, birdlife and culture.

Stokkseyri offers a quieter South Coast experience than the headline Ring Road stops. The old fish-processing building has been repurposed for culture, and the village's shoreline, church and surviving historic character make it a worthwhile detour from Selfoss or Eyrarbakki.

Did You Know?

The village developed strongly from around 1890 to 1930.
