Skriðufell

Þjórsárdalur once supported substantial birch woodland and a dense early settlement, much of which was affected by the Hekla eruption of 1104. Skriðufell later became an important part of modern forestry work in the valley. Visitors can experience the greener side of Þjórsárdalur using established roads and walking routes.
