Skeljastaðakirkja

The present church is a modern reconstruction rather than a surviving medieval building. It helps visitors visualise the type of small timber-and-turf church that may have stood in the valley during the Commonwealth period. The archaeological cemetery at Skeljastaðir is a separate historical site.
