About Sigríðarstaðavatn
„Sigríðarstaðavatn stendur við botn Húnaflóa og er grunnt og mjótt vatn um 6 km á lengd. Vatnið er opið til hafs við Sigríðarstaðaós og í því gætir flóðs og fjöru. Silungsveiði er í vatninu og dvelur ætíð mikið af sel á sandinum sem er austan við ósinn“ (1). Bæði vatnið sjálft og umhverfi þess er fallegt, „stuðlaberg og svartur sandur eru áberandi með grænu melgresi innan um svartan sandinn, jarðvarma og dýralífi. Sellátur mikið við norðarnvert vatnið“ (2). Við vatnið eru kortlagðar gönguleiðir m.a. út að Nesbjörgum (3).
