About Refstaðir á Laxárdal
„Refsstaðir eru að austan, nokkru norðar en Strjúgsskarðið, er liggur á milli Laxárdals og Langadals, og er bæjarstæðið undir hnjúk sem samnefndur er býlinu. Þetta var talin ein besta bújörðin á Laxárdal og var þar oft fleirbýlt. Litlu-Refsstaðir voru fyrir utan og ofan túnið og hafa þeir trúlega verið reistir sem húsmannsbýli. Elín og Sveinn frá Elivogum voru einnig síðustu ábúendur á Refsstöðum, allt til dánarárs Sveins 1945. Íbúðarhúsið brann 1933, og eftir það var íbúðarhúsnæðið í lakara lagi, aðeins reist til bráðabirgða. Þó eru rústir hér meiri en víðast hvar á Laxárdal, enda veggirnir úr steini.“
