About Jökulsstaðir
Frá Jökulsstöðum er „víðsýnt um Vatnsdal og Þing. Þar er að finna tóftaleifar og garðlög í kring. Sett hefur verið upp söguskilti við veginn neðan við Jökulsstaði og er stutt gönguleið upp hlíðina að rústunum, sem enn sést móta fyrir.“ Rústirnar voru friðlýstar árið 1930. Segir í Landnámu og Vatnsdælasögu að Jökull Ingimundarson hafi búið í Tungu, en þó staðarheitið Jökulsstaðir sé ekki nefnt, má ætla að höfundur sögunnar hafi talið bæ Jökuls í Tungu hinni efri, s.s. á Jökulsstöðum.
