Sá er þar á að liggja er sagður hafa viljað bera þar beinin en valdsmenn heimiluðu það ekki. Þegar á hálsinn kom varð hestunum sem fluttu líkið ekki þokað lengra“ (1). Dys á Ferstikluhálsi var friðlýst af Kristjáni Eldjárn árið 1965 (2).
