About Berjadalsgljúfur
„Í Akrafjalli að vestanverðu er Berjadalur og klýfur hann fjallið inn að miðju.“ Eftir dalnum rennur Berjadalsá sem fellur til sjávar í Blautósi, norðvestur af fjallinu. Akurnesingar fá neysluvatn sitt úr ánni (1) og við Blautós eru vatnsból. Vinsæl gönguleið liggur upp á Akrafjall frá vatnsbólunum. Gangan er 5 km löng fram og til baka og hækkun um 500 metra (2). Rétt ofan við Blautós rennur Berjadalsá eftir gljúfrum sem nefnast Berjadalsgljúfur. Í þeim fellur áin í nokkrum fossum sem heita Lambafossar, Gljúfurfoss og Háifoss.
