About GKG Golf Club — Mýrin
The Mýrin nine-hole course is the shorter half of Golfklúbbur Kópavogs og Garðabæjar's (GKG) 27-hole complex in Garðabær. Added in 2007 as part of a club expansion designed by Swedish architect Jan Sederholm with later enhancements by Icelandic designer Andrés Guðmundsson, Mýrin plays to par 34 from approximately 2,400 metres at back tees — a compact lake-and-bunker test well suited to morning warm-up rounds or golfers new to links-style conditions. The adjacent 18-hole Leirdalsvöllur championship course has hosted the Icelandic National Championship. Shared facilities include a driving range, pro shop, and restaurant. The club sits on Route 41, approximately 7 km from central Reykjavík and 35–40 minutes from Keflavík Airport.
