Um The Lava Show — Real Volcanic Lava in Reykjavík

Hraunsýningin á Gamla höfninni er eina innanhúss hraungossýning heims þar sem raunverulegt eldfjallahraun — hitað yfir 1.100 °C — er hellt fyrir lifandi áhorfendur. Gestir sitja nokkra metra frá glóandi bráðnum bergi, finna brennandi hitann og fylgjast með hvernig hraunið rennur, springur og harðnar í rauntíma. Þrjátíu mínútna sýningin sameinar fræðslu um jarðfræði og líkamlega upplifun af því að vera í nánd við eitt af öflugustu náttúruöflum heims.

Bakgrunnur

Saga og bakgrunnur

The Lava Show was founded in 2018 as a permanent attraction in Reykjavík, building on earlier experimental shows developed by its founders after the 2010 eruptions. It was the first attraction of its kind in the world and has inspired similar concepts globally. The founders continue to operate the Reykjavík original as the flagship.

Lava Show Reykjavík offers a ticketed indoor presentation of heated volcanic rock and the physics of flowing lava. The lava is managed in a controlled theatre environment by staff: it is not an active volcano eruption and visitors do not handle molten lava. Book a date-specific show and follow the safety briefing. Setting: Specialist indoor performance theatre in Grandi’s harbour district. Visitor information: Ticketed timed performances; check actual departures, prices and restrictions with operator.

Staðbundin þjóðsaga

Touching the Planet's Blood

Iceland is one of the few places on Earth where the planet's internal heat breaks through the surface regularly. The Lava Show lets you sit with it, feel it, and understand — for the first time — what a volcanic country really is.
