About Laufás Historic Farm Museum
Laufás is one of Iceland's best-preserved turf farm complexes, a row of traditional grass-roofed farmhouses on the shores of Eyjafjörður near Akureyri. The oldest buildings date to 1865 and the farm was inhabited until 1936. Now a folk museum under the Akureyri Museum umbrella, the buildings contain original 19th-century furnishings, farm tools and household items. The complex also includes a restored 19th-century church. The farm is set in beautiful farmland with mountain and fjord views.
