History & Background
Langanes hefur ríka, þótt krefjandi, sögu mannabyggðar. Í aldaraðir voru dreifðir bæir á skaganum og byggðu íbúar á fiskveiðum og takmörkuðum landbúnaði. Mikilvægasta tímabil byggðar var á Skálum, sem er staðsett á austurhliðinni. Frá um 1910 til 1946 blómstraði Skálar sem lifandi og farsælt fiskveiðiþorp, með verulegum íbúafjölda og innviðum.
