About Vífilsstaðahlíð - gönguleið
„Vífilsstaðahlíð er í nyrsta hluta Heiðmerkur.“ Mikið fuglalíf er á svæðinu sem gaman er að hlusta á þótt erfitt geti verið að sjá fuglana í skógarþykkninu (1). Gönguleiðin liggur frá gönguhliði við Maríuvelli, inn Vífilsstaðahlíð og til baka. Leiðin er 7 km löng og tekur um 1,5 - 2 klst að ganga hana (2). Ýmiskonar aðstaða er á svæðinu s.s. grillaðstaða. Gönguleiðin tengist mörgum öðrum leiðum á svæðinu svo hægt er að lengja gönguna að vild (3).
