About Valbjargagjá
Í Valbjargagjá lét Ólafur P. Sveinsson, vitavörður á Reykjanesi, gera litla laug í gjánna á árunum 1925-30. Hraunklöpp var sprengd við gjána svo volgur sjór seytlaði inn í hana. Byggt var yfir laugina og gerð þrep niður í gjánna. Í lauginni fór fram sundkennsla Grindvíkinga um nokkurra ára skeið fyrr á öldinni (1). Vatnið í gjánni er ekki lengur volgt en Ferðamálasamtök Suðurnesja hafa fengið styrk til að endurhlaða laugina og gera hana baðhæfa á ný (2).
