Kambar

Kambar forms the steep eastern descent from Hellisheiði toward Hveragerði. Lava has flowed down the roughly 240-metre slope, and the first road through Kambar was laid in 1879. From the upper edge, visitors can look east across the South Iceland lowlands. Stop only in designated or clearly safe pull-offs and never on the active roadway.
