Jökuldalur

Jökuldalur is the long valley followed by Jökulsá á Dal in East Iceland. The river is the defining natural feature of the valley and connects a series of stronger visitor destinations, including canyon landscapes and Stuðlagil. For general travellers, Jökulsá á Dal is therefore best presented as part of the wider Jökuldalur landscape rather than as a separate generic river attraction. The valley also provides access toward historic farms and routes on the surrounding highlands.
