About Harpa Concert Hall
Harpa is Reykjavík's spectacular concert hall and conference centre — a landmark building on the harbour with a geometric glass facade designed to reflect the sky, sea and Northern Lights.

History & Background
Harpa was designed by Danish architectural firm Henning Larsen in collaboration with artist Olafur Eliasson, who designed the distinctive south-facing façade of geometric steel and glass hexagonal modules. Construction began in 2007, during Iceland's economic boom, and was the only part of a planned major harbour development that was completed before the 2008 financial collapse. Harpa opened in 2011 and won the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture in 2013.
