About this experience
Discover the magical wonderland of Lake Myvatn and Godafoss Waterfall with an experienced local tour guide. We set off from Akureryi stopping at Godafoss waterfall and then onto the famous Lake Myvatn. The tour stops at all the top attractions of Lake Myvatn including Grjotagja cave and rift, Dimmurborgir Lava formations, pseudocraters, Hverir mud pots and natural steam vents/fumeroles and the Myvatn Nature Baths. (Please note the entrance fee to the Nature Baths is not included). We will then drop you off at your requested destination so you can take a rest before we go on a Northern Lights hunt in the evening.
This wonderful tour takes you hunting for Northern lights with an expert top rated Northern Lights guide through the winter night. Our hunt takes you out of town to the countryside, away from the bright lights of the city so that the Northern Lights can be seen in all their beauty and colours.
The local guide will share Icelandic tales during the journey on this magical tour. Please note the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and are also dependant on weather conditions therefore we cannot guarantee they will be sighted however if the guide confirms no lights were seen.
