About this experience
This is the total package when it comes to a fully immersive, private experience on a glacier. Not only will you be able to visit our famous Crystal Ice Cave, but you will also get to challenge yourself with ice climbing on Vatnajokull, Europe’s largest glacier. From beginner to expert-level climbers, all are welcome. We always adjust the tour to our guest’s fitness levels and capabilities, making this a tour that anyone can try with the willingness to push themselves. You will be guided by a fully certified glacier guide who also doubles as a professional adventure photographer. Your guide will make sure to get those epic action shots of you traversing walls of ice, climbing deep glacial holes, and exploring our crystal-blue ice cave.
Then, at the end of your tour, we will edit your photos and you will get a photo package within 14 days as the perfect souvenir to remember your epic adventure by!

Good to know
✓ Water Bottle (Recommended) – You will have many spots to fill it up with glacier water.
✓ Proper Seasonal Clothing – Warm layers for freezing or wet conditions. Warm hat and gloves.
✓ Waterproof Jacket – Rentals are available under extras.
✓ Waterproof Pants – Rentals are available under extras.
- Ice caves are a dynamic ever-changing natural phenomenon. Each year, old ice caves melt and new ice caves appear. Photos that you see of the cave at any given time on our website or any social media will not necessarily mean that is what you will necessarily experience on your tour. This makes each experience unique and special for our guests.
- This tour involves roughly 3 hours of hiking and climbing. We always adjust to our guest’s skill levels in regard to ice climbing, but we recommend this tour more to those that are at least moderately fit.
- Photo packages may sometimes take more or less than 14 days to edit. This is just our average turnaround time.

Cancellation policy
For all bookings of day tours, a minimum of 24 hours' notice prior to your scheduled departure is required in order to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made with less than 24 hours notice, no refund is given.
For all bookings of multi-day and custom private tours, a minimum of 72 hours' notice prior to your scheduled departure is required in order to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made with less than 72 hours' notice, no refund is given*
*Note that in the event the client requests a refund for any reason, Tour Desk reserves the right to charge a 3% administration fee to cover costs incurred.
