Westfjords Scenic Drive – Route 60
About Westfjords Scenic Drive – Route 60
Route 60 is the main road through the Westfjords, connecting Bifröst in the south to Ísafjörður in the north over mountain passes and alongside dramatic fjords. The road crosses a series of spectacular mountain passes (some reaching 600+ m and closed in winter) between the deeply indented fjords that define this unique peninsula. The landscape of fjords, mountains, waterfalls and remote farms is some of Iceland's most dramatic and least-visited scenery. Total drive time Reykjavík–Ísafjörður is about 5 hours.
