Vigur

Vigur is one of the best-known islands in Ísafjarðardjúp and a genuine visitor destination in the Westfjords. The island supports large seabird colonies and an important eider nesting area, while its cultural landscape preserves buildings and objects connected with island life. Summer boat trips bring visitors to Vigur, where the experience is explored on foot. Notable heritage features include Viktoríuhús, a timber house dating to around 1860, and Iceland's only preserved wooden wind-powered grain mill.
