About Sauðeyjar
Sauðeyjar eru í Vesturbyggð, V-Barðastrandasýslu og eru eyjaklasi undan Vatnsfirði, sunnan frá Flötuflögu norður fyrir Æðarsker. Sauðeyjar eru á náttúruminjaskrá Vestfjarða fyrir fegurð og sérstöðu hvað varðar landslag og lífríki (1). Selalátur er í Sauðeyjum og voru útselskópar taldir þar frá árunum 2005-2009 og voru um 140 kópar taldir á Sauðeyjum (2). Í Sauðeyjum eru sjaldgæfar plöntutegundir eins og t.d. mosategundin skógarrytja. Af fuglum verpir toppskarfur í Sauðeyjum en um 36% stofnsins verpir þar, einnig er á eyjunni æðarvarp (3).
